Our Perio Team
I joined Spokane periodontics in 2017. I was thrilled to become apart of such a great office. I graduated dental assisting school in 2009 and have worked in the periodontal world of dentistry ever since, starting out as a surgical assistant and moving into the front office. I have a passion for patient education and helping people with a servants heart. At any given time at Spokane periodontics you may find me supporting the back clinic team or front office.
Outside of work You Will find me enjoying all the awesome outdoor activities the pacific northwest has to offer, chasing my two daughters around or spending quality time with my husband and family.
Patient and Front Office Coordinator
I entered the world of dentistry as a sterilization technician, became CPR certified and completed coursework from Obstructive Sleep Airway University. It wasn’t long before I moved my way to the front office specializing in all things insurance. My favorite part of being in the dental field is seeing patients grow confidence in having healthy smiles.
When I am not greeting and caring for our patients, I am out enjoying camping, fishing and spending time with my husband, two sons and two dogs.
Insurance and Benefit Coordinator
Patient care has always been my passion. I entered healthcare straight out of high school, spending 8 years as a nursing assistant before going into dentistry. I graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Spokane Community College in 2011 and began my career in periodontics. Always a fan of further education, I returned to Spokane Community College for the Expanded Functions Dental Assisting program, graduating in 2015. After a brief time in general dentistry I realized that periodontics was where I belonged. I joined Dr. Johnson’s office in 2017 and am truly excited to come to work every day. I’m proud to be part of a team whose primary focus is quality patient care!
I received a dental hygiene degree in 2003 from Clark college in Vancouver Washington. I moved to Spokane in 2003, started my career in periodontics and found an adoration for it. I married my husband in 2004 and had my son Gavin in 2005. I started working with Dr. Shellerud 2006 and also followed the practice transition over to Dr. Johnson. My love for dentistry started as a child with a great pediatric dentist as I had my own gamut of dental procedures throughout life. I am no stranger to dental surgeries. My goal is to build patient relationships, having them feel comfortable and confident in their provider and dental procedure options.
Hobbies, I love crossfit, outdoor activities, family time, lake days, gardening, cooking and wine tasting and eventually, one day traveling the world.

I graduated from Eastern Washington University with a bachelors of science in Dental Hygiene in 2010. Through the past 9 years I have been able to gain experience in many different dental settings, from corporate to holistic, but periodontal is by far my favorite, thus why I joined Spokane Periodontics in 2019. As a medical provider, I value being able to spend time with patients and helping them improve their periodontal and overall health. Making dental experiences more comfortable for patients is a daily goal of mine. I am a continuous learner and appreciate being able to pass the knowledge along to patients.
I married my high school sweetheart and we have two young children, a girl and a boy. Raising and teaching my children is a true joy. Summer is my favorite time of year, I love being outside enjoying the sunshine, playing in the water and taking advantage of the beautiful northwest. In what free time I have, you can find me tucked away reading a book.
I’ve been a registered dental assistant for 4 years now. I started off working with Dr. Shellerud for 1.5 years and have been working with Dr. Johnson for 2.5 years. I come from a community where people don’t see the dentist on regular basis and ,quite frankly, don’t understand the importance of oral health. Being in this field gives me the opportunity to help people understand how important their oral health is and how it affects your body overall. This year, I have been accepted into the Dental Hygiene program at Eastern Washington University and am looking forward to making a positive impact on the world one person at a time. Becoming a hygienist will give me the opportunity to spend more time with patients one-on-one and build personal relationships. I am a workaholic, sitting around and doing nothing isn’t my cup of tea. I am also the biggest clean freak out there. If you leave something laying around, I will pick it up and put it back where it belongs. I have a passion for serving the community and am always ready for any new challenges!
I enjoy outdoor activities, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
I went to school at Carrington College and received my Registered Dental Assistant certificate. I graduated in 2012, and am CPR certified. I love my job and is always there to listen and help you personally or send you in the right direction. You may even hear her loud whole hearted laugh, carry through the office a few times.
I like to go camping and spend time with my daughter, Grace in her free time.
I was born and raised in Spokane Valley and I currently live in the beautiful country side of Freeman/Valleyford area on 100 acres of land. I attended and graduated from Spokane Community College where I received my Dental Assisting degree. I have a warm heart and love welcoming patients with a smile.
In my spare time you will find me with my family. I have a passion for recreational sports such as fishing hiking, hunting, camping and spending time at home with my chickens and ducks. I would much rather be outside than in. I met my husband, Forrest in high school and we married in June of 2018. We have two Labrador dogs named Gauge and Drake
